Three Simple Ideas To Remember In Law School

The hardest times I’ve ever encountered with self-esteem was during my 1L year. What kept me going were constant reminders that refreshed my view of the situation.

Something I highly suggest is to practice mindfulness, especially during law school. I found that mindfulness was a beneficial practice to my mental health and it helped me get through difficult times. Sometimes, it’s as simple as taking a moment to yourself.

Whenever you’re feeling down at any point in your law school journey, just remember three simple truths:

1. Hard work always pays off.

2. Law school is temporary.

3. There’s a reason why you’re there.

Initially, these might too simple. However, if you’re in a rut, feeling bad about yourself or stressed out, taking the purposeful time to think about these three ideas can do wonders for your mental health. In the grand scheme of life, law school is a stepping stone. It is definitely important, but it is not the end all be all that we get caught up in.
